Collection procedure for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea urine sample: collect fist catch urine. This is due to the chances of identifying this bacteria will be strongest with the urine directly from the urethra without washing it out with midstream urine.
Certain infectious diseases are notifiable to the Health Dept by the Laboratories. This is done for statistical reasons and for potential community health concerns, not to identify patients
