Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be published on the Website.

IMEDICAL is committed to respecting your privacy and is bound to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act") and state or territory legislation that governs how private sector health providers should handle your Personal Information, including but not limited to, information about your health.

    Personal information is any information which identifies you or could reasonably identify you.

    • Health information relating to your lifestyle and medical history that is relevant to providing IMEDICAL services.
    • Relevant government identifiers (such as your Medicare number) when necessary for reporting or other administrative purposes.
    • Records of our past engagement with you.
    • In relation to employees, any information relating to your employment.
  4. Use and disclosure of Personal Information

    We may use and disclose your Personal Information for the following purposes:

    • For the primary purpose (or a related secondary purpose) of providing you with access to and use of the Website and to receive IMEDICAL services which include the provision of flu vaccinations and self-order pathology services.
    • If you have expressly consented for Us to use your Personal Information for a purpose other than the primary purpose We collected your Personal Information.
    • To carry out Our obligations or exercise Our rights under the law.
    • To carry out Our administrative and business operations, including billing, payment and debt collection, risk management, record keeping, archiving, and training activities.
    • To fulfill regulatory and public health requirements, such as reporting vaccinations to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) or notifying the Department of Health and Aged Care, or its state and territory counterparts, of certain cases of infectious diseases.
    • To enable Us to handle any enquiries, or other requests for information that you have made.
    • To communicate with you regarding any issues affecting the IMEDICAL services delivered, or to be delivered to you, or for urgent medical reasons.
    • To inform you about the Website and services which We offer or believe are of interest to you, including providing you with Our periodic newsletters and updates about Our services or special offers if you opt in (although you may opt out of receiving these kinds of communications by using the contact details set out below or by following the opt out instructions that will be provided to you in communications from Us
    • To conduct activities related to quality assurance/improvement processes, audits, risk management, customer/client satisfaction surveys, market research and staff education and training.
    • To consider any application for employment with Us.

    We may disclose your Personal Information, for any of the above purposes, to:

    • Healthcare service providers or other relevant parties (such as collection centres, laboratories and medical practitioners) for the purpose of providing IMEDICAL services and to carry out Our administrative and business operations.
    • Statutory registries or bodies where requested to do so by you or as required by Australian law (such as the AIR). Certain infectious diseases are notifiable to the Department of Health and Aged Care, or its state and territory counterparts. You may be contacted directly by a representative from one of the above government departments, such as the Public Health Unit, by telephone or email in the case of a serious notifiable infectious disease. This is due to the self-order nature of IMEDICAL services and that We do not collect or retain the details of your treating medical practitioner and therefore cannot contact them directly.
    • Other third parties or organisations, if required by, and in order to comply with, Our legal obligations.
    • Our employees and contractors, noting that these persons will be subject to confidentiality agreements to protect your Personal Information.
    • Contracted third parties, under agreement, engaged by Us to provide professional services (such as debt collection, payment processors, and information and communication technology providers) who will be subject to confidentiality agreements.
    • Our advisers in relation to any actual or threatened legal action by or against Us.
    • Our insurers in relation to any actual or potential claim made by or in relation to Us.
  5. Anonymity

    You can request that We not identify you in any of your dealings with Us. We are not required to comply with this request if it would be impracticable for Us to deal with you without having identified you.

    A Cookie is a feature stored on your computer’s hard drive by your web browser. On each visit to the Website, our web browser will recognise the Cookie and give Us information about your visit. The Cookie does not contain information that personally identifies you and We do not use Cookies for that purpose.     IMEDICAL uses Google Analytics as a website analytics tool to collect data about how you interact with the Website, including but not limited to:

    • Device IP address (collected and stored in an anonymized format);
    • search terms and pages visited on the Website;
    • date and time when pages were accessed;
    • downloads, time spent on page and bounce rate;
    • referring domain and out link if applicable;
    • device type, operating system and browser information;
    • device screen size; and
    • geographic location (city).

  8. Storage of Personal Information

    IMEDICAL will use its reasonable endeavours to protect and maintain the security of your Personal Information and to make the Website as secure as possible against unauthorised access. Our officers, employees, agents and third party contractors are expected to observe the confidentiality of your Personal Information.

    When accessing the Website, connection and data transfer is served encrypted and authenticated using Transport Layer Security (TSL) to provide data security.

    Your Personal Information is stored on secure servers at a top-level security-controlled data centre in Australia with safeguards and protocols in place to detect, alert and block suspicious behaviour such as attempts at unauthorised data access.

    Our data security systems and Website protocols are under constant review and subject to continuing upgrades.

    However, despite Our reasonable endeavours, such as those referred to above, We are unable to ensure or warrant the security of Personal Information transmitted to Us via email or the internet, or held by Us. All Personal Information disclosed by you to Us is at your own risk.

    We will destroy or permanently de-identify any of your Personal Information that is no longer need for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, provided we are not required under any relevant law to retain such information.

    Your Personal Account: If you have set up a Personal Account on the IMEDICAL platform, you are responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of your log-in credentials. If you would like to close your Personal Account, please access the “My Profile” section of the IMEDICAL Platform and under “delete account”, select “confirm.

  9. Overseas transfer of Personal Information

    As at the date of this Privacy Policy, we are not likely to disclose Personal Information to other overseas recipients. If in future we do propose to disclose Personal Information overseas, we will do so in compliance with the requirements of the Privacy Act. We will, where practicable, advise you of the countries in which any overseas recipients are likely to be located.

    In such cases, We will also take reasonable steps to ensure that the related entities or third parties are obliged to protect this Personal Information in accordance with the Privacy Act and that they are only permitted to use Personal Information for the purpose for which it is shared.

    For the avoidance of doubt, in the event that an overseas recipient breaches the Privacy Act, that entity will not be bound by, and you will not be able seek redress under, the Privacy Act.
