Anti Mullerian Hormone

The AMH test measures Anti Mullerian Hormone in the blood. AMH is a hormone produced by reproductive tissues in Women. AMH levels typically increase during puberty and then gradually decline over their reproductive years, becoming almost undetectable after menopause. Measuring AMH levels can be helpful in determining a womans ovarian (egg) reserve and how likely she is to be able to conceive. It can also be helpful in predicting the onset on menopause.

AMH may be abnormally elevated in conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or Ovarian tumors. For women who are testing AMH to evaluate fertility, this test is often ordered with Oestradiol (E2) and FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)
